Is Errol Spence washed ahead of Tim Tszyu comeback

Is Errol Spence washed as a high level prize fighter at the highest level of professional boxing? He comes back soon.

He isn’t coming back against an easy fighter either in Tim Tszyu.

Not only that he’s fighting a catchweight at 158 pounds near where Tszyu competes and is going all the way to Australia to his back yard as well.

Some things to consider on Spence:

  • Spence is 36 years old for the Tszyu fight.
  • His last fight was July 29, 2023; returns July 25, 2026 – 3 years inactive.
  • Spence’s only win since his 2021 detached retina was vs Ugas in April 2022.
  • He suffered a detached left retina in 2021 and pulled out of Pacquiao fight.
  • Spence was in a 2019 Ferrari crash, ejected with no seatbelt, ICU stay.
  • Tszyu has fought 7 times during Spence’s 3-year layoff.
  • BoxingNewsAndViews: “Spence didn’t come across as brimming with confidence” at presser.
  • Shakur Stevenson said Spence still has “experience” but both have “visible decline.”
  • Tim Bradley believes Spence is “restored” and will stop Tszyu.
  • Terence Crawford publicly backed Spence: “Good seeing you back… I’ll be there supporting.”

Some believe Spence is done — others believe he can still be a force.

We will have to see shortly.

If Errol Spence gets bust up again like he did against Crawford it is time for him to call it a day.
