Stranger than ever Usyk has been training for strength and power clearly ahead of a shocking opponent choice this month.
Oleksandr Usyk has always been a strange man even his nickname is ‘The Cat’ but this month he has decided to box a kickboxer who has only fought once as a professional boxer.
In his next actual heavyweight boxing defense.
From his training clips he has bulked up a huge amount compared to some of his fights with Dubois and Joshua even in recent years.
When he gets in the ring later this month he could be his heaviest ever in his career.
Here’s what Usyk has weighed in his last five fights for perspective here:
Oleksandr Usyk – Last 5 Fights Weigh-In Weights
- vs Daniel Dubois, 19 Jul 2025: 227.3 lbs
- vs Tyson Fury, 21 Dec 2024: 226 lbs
- vs Tyson Fury, 18 May 2024: 233.5 lbs
- vs Daniel Dubois, 26 Aug 2023: 221 lbs
- vs Anthony Joshua, 20 Aug 2022: 15st 11lb 10oz = 221 lbs
We think he could be much heavier later this month though.
Maybe even as high as the 240 pounds ball park. He has gained a lot of muscle and weight and he has shown that he can really punch in recent years against Dubois and so on.
He might be punching more powerfully than ever now but you don’t know how that might effect his speed and stamina in there.
The winner of Wardley vs Dubois this weekend will be keeping an eye on the Usyk fight later this month obviosuly.
