The Benavidez vs Ramirez Reaction to the Cinco De Mayo 2026 boxing card in Las Vegas says it all here for this year’s big fight weekend.
Not only did the main event live up to the hype.
So did the whole card.
It was a great card but still not worth the pay per view price of 80 dollars in the US as that model no longer works in boxing and PBC will pay the price accordingly for that continued out of date business model moving forward.
That price point doesn’t work anymore.
But the fights were excellent. The card was great.
This reaction from fans says as much:

The action was outstanding in the card tonight.
Much punches were thrown and landed.
Here is why it was a great weekend and another great win for the sport this weekend:
- Mexican vs. Mexican main: Benavidez fought Zurdo on Cinco de Mayo weekend
- Titles on the line: WBA/WBO cruiserweight belts defended
- Undercard brawled: Flores-Lucero landed 1,500+ punches
- 3 Mexico matchups: Card had Resendiz-Munguia and Duarte-Fierro too
- Stars showed up: Ryan Garcia gave predictions and drew eyes
- Legacy stakes: Benavidez chased a 4th division title
- Big platform: Amazon Prime + DAZN PPV streamed it live
- Weight jump worked: Proved cruiserweight can be a marquee division
- No gimmicks: Two primes, no catchweight, no ducking
- What’s next: Winner can unify with Opetaia or Billam-Smith
There was also a moment before the main event tonight where former champion Mike Tyson gave these words of advise to David Benavidez.
