Does Tyson Fury Really Have The Motivation To Get Back To The Pinnacle

Boxing is doing great and is on its way to the pinnacle as a sport again shortly of all sport but we are not sure about Fury this year.

Boxing is doing great as a sport now and everything is coming back right where it left off all those years ago as one of the most widely viewed sports worldwide out of all sports.

That is continuing in the days and weeks ahead powered by great fights.

Some involving older names and champions and many involving new contenders and new prospects in many different countries.

Fury said this was his big comeback year and he did alright recently in his comeback fight on Netflix this month in a wide UD points win but he was always expected to get the win.

Many would have thought he would have got his opponent out of there and he was far from his best from the old days of Tyson Fury.

His hand speed was slow and ponderous at times and there was no urgency behind his jab regularly.

You could tell there was ring rust but also he looked to have taken the fight just as a tune up basically. Despite it being on a huge platform like Netflix and at a huge soccer stadium in the UK.

This suggests to us that the eye of the tiger and fight motivation he used to have may not be what it once was.

Not the case for the sport of boxing as the sport continues to fly higher daily faster and faster and focus is looked in now this month and next month to do big things for the sport amid some great fights.

Fury afterwards even said if it isn’t Anthony Joshua next he’s not really interested in boxing anymore.

He said that in one breath and then he changed his mind in the same press conference and said he’s open to the Usyk trilogy, it sounded like he wasn’t overly focused and he has a large amount of kids to look after away from boxing as well.

Who knows what will happen Tyson Fury this year and it remains to be seen where he goes next.

If the Joshua fight is not agreed soon Tyson Fury may not do much in boxing ever again.

Boxing will move on and see other big names at heavyweight emerge instead in the weeks ahead at heavyweight. It always does.

It is about the fights at the end of the day.
