Mayweather Dragging Pacquiao rematch leaves Netflix & fans disgusted.
Apparently there are plenty of options for Pacman and Netflix if Mayewather manages to somehow get out of the rematch in September as a proper pro boxing match.
But not good for Mayweather at the moment.
Here are 10 ways Floyd Mayweather is souring his image with Pacquiao, Netflix, and boxing fans by delaying and downplaying the rematch:
- Kills the hype — Turning a huge announced Netflix event into uncertainty frustrates everyone waiting for the fight.
- Makes Netflix look bad — The streamer promoted it heavily; his mixed messages damage their first big boxing push.
- Undermines Pacquiao — Treating it as a mere exhibition disrespects Manny’s desire for a real pro rematch.
- Baits and switches fans — After 11 years, fans feel teased again with no clear commitment.
- Looks scared — Insisting it’s not a real fight reinforces the “protecting 50-0” narrative.
- Creates contract drama — Taking money then backtracking makes him appear unprofessional and unreliable.
- Stalls momentum — No firm press conference means no real promotion, tickets, or training buzz.
- Divides boxing — Reignites old hate and paints him as the greedy villain blocking the big fight.
- Hurts his own legacy — The longer he dodges, the more “Money over pride” sticks to his brand.
- Wastes a golden chance — At their ages, this could be a massive final payday for both — instead, it leaves a bitter taste.
Mayweather recently said the fight would be an exhibition but everyone else including Pacman thought it was a real fight.
Mayweather has gone silent now and is in serious trouble.
Boxing will move on and win again as a sport regardless.
There is still no info on the Mayweather vs Mike Tyson supposed exhibition in Africa this month either in terms of press conferences for it and so on.
