Ryan Garcia Vs Conor Benn Fight Style Match Up

Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn Fight Style Match Up

Ryan Garcia Vs Conor Benn Fight

The fight is a real possibility now.

Although Garcia called out Shakur Stevenson afterwards following his win over Mario Barrios, that isn’t a fight that will possibly happen next up.

Shakur Stevenson is not a welterweight of course and was only up at 147 pounds temporarily recently when he done a job on Teofimo Lopez — busting him up and sending him to oblivion over twelve rounds.

He had said previously he was looking then at returning back to around super lightweight (140 lbs.) afterwards so the fight doesn’t need seem plausible.

Of course he could fight Garcia at 147lbs. for the easy pay day, batter him, outbox him and then go to that weight but time will tell.

The more obvious fight for Ryan Garcia and one that maybe matches better for him style wise is Conor Benn of the UK who is coming off a career best performance in his rematch win at middleweight over Chris Eubank Jr recently.

Benn is now more in the US as well after signing with Zuffa Boxing recently and so the bout can be easily made at some point.

Garcia’s situation with where he boxes became very unclear on fight week recently as he said before the fight with Barrios it was his last one with Oscar De La Hoya as his promoter.

Then after the fight it wasn’t really clear at all was that the case.

If he does move on from him he can easily sign with Zuffa in America and make the Conor Benn and other big fights straight away of course.

Both Benn and Garcia are good punchers at welterweight and have fan friendly, come forward, all action styles mostly.

There to be hit at times but also that usually works out as good for fans with good fights.

Garcia boxed more disciplined against Barrios however but there seems to be a bit of genuine needle there between him and Benn and the whole US vs UK rivalry in boxing as well would likely see a real scrap break out at some point.

Both have big fan bases, one mostly in the US, the other mostly in the UK.

Both now actually have good international fan bases as well outside of those countries as well.

Conor Benn has a good gas tank and can push a pace on Garcia from round one that he may not be able to keep up with as well as the fight goes on.

Both have big right hands and sharp hooks at times but the uppercut maybe is a more hurtful shot from Conor Benn of the two.

In all facets the fight matches up well style wise to make a good fight for fans.

There’s also the Shakur Stevenson fight for Ryan Garcia — but that doesn’t match up well for him style wise at all.

And they are different weights as well.
