The WBC look to be burning quickly.
Firstly, following this interview from Mauricio Sulaimán, the President of the WBC (World Boxing Council) with Ariel Helwani.
It didn’t come across well for Mr. Sulaiman at all when he was speaking to have to set with the ordinary people in the stands at an event. Claiming mistreatment at Canelo vs Crawford.
Now further woes. This poorly worded canned statement from surely a not very bright lawyer came across awful with fans on social media:
It is damage limitation at this point for the WBC.
Mitigate as much of this carnage coming to them as possible.
The above prompted Shakur Stevenson to lay waste to them completely here.
Times are changing and have changed now in boxing.
Many new players, governments and large companies are in and are coming to boxing.
The above does not make it difficult for them at all.
It only helps them.
Shakur Stevenson doesn’t exactly need the WBC as a pound for pound star moving forward — here’s some facts why:

- Focused on bigger fights at 140+ lbs, not dropping back to defend 135.

- His brand continues to go to new levels internationally.
