It was some year for the Filipino Flash last year in 2025 and the new year is already off to a fast one for him, news on possible fight here.
He contended for the world title last year and possibly should have got the decision on the cards.
He showed at 43 he is still one of the best fighters in the world in all of professional boxing near his weight.
He won an interim title last year but then lost in a close fight after.
Now according to some talks, there’s a March 15th return for him being looked at in terms of the event:
Event: U-Next Boxing.5 on March 15, 2026, at Yokohama Buntai, Yokohama, Japan.
Donaire (43-9, 28 KOs) vs. Riku Masuda (9-1, 8 KOs) — WBA bantamweight title eliminator (10 or 12 rounds).
Olascuaga (11-1, 8 KOs) vs. Jukiya Iimura (9-1, 2 KOs) — WBO flyweight title defense.
Card also includes other world title fights (e.g., WBC junior fly/light fly, WBA straw/minimumweight).
Streamed live on U-Next in Japan; announced recently (January 2026).
Alas, not a bad card at all and a great night of fights again ahead in Japan.
Donaire not confirmed yet but could be soon.
