The first fight of 2026 for Canelo Alvarez has now been ordered and it will surprise some and obviously it is not Terence Crawford.
Crawford and him were meant to do the rematch but not the case.
The rematch won’t be happening due to ‘Bud’ Crawford retiring.
Instead the IBF has officially ordered Osleys Iglesias vs Canelo for the IBF super middleweight belt — which is vacant currently.

Osleys Iglesias is currently 14-0-13 KO born in Cuba but now fighting out of Germany.
He hasn’t really fought anyone anywhere near world title level however and has mainly been fighting out of Germany, Poland and Canada.
Expect Canelo to massacre that individual.
Expect also more official news soon on the details and so on — nothing confirmed just yet other than the IBF ordering it.
Alvarez is an all time great in the making but will look to get back on winning track after the Terence Crawford defeat recently.
