The Art Of The Comeback

The Art Of The Comeback

The comeback story in boxing is maybe the best one there is along with underdog’s triumphing, it is close between those two.

Everyone loves the underdog story, the Rocky Balboa story, it just sells and is always popular. But it happens quite a lot in boxing, all the time in fact.

Underdogs frequently upset the apple cart in boxing these days due to the quality of matchmaking of big fights happening all the time now, odds makers and sports books see this all the time as well, they don’t often get it wrong but they do in boxing believe it or not, all the time they get it wrong, literally.

Kubrat Pulev getting knocked out at the weekend proof yet again, a round one knockout that no one would have saw coming from Gassiev.

The Art Of The Comeback

Underdog stories and upsets happen all the time but the really rare, gem stories that hardly ever happen, only the very few special fighting men in boxing that achieve them, is the comeback stories.

You look at the likes of Tyson Fury, Lennox Lewis, Manny Pacquiao and many others over the years in professional boxing to name but a few.

These are very special, rare fighting men at the pinnacle of big time boxing that can actually come back from being knocked down, knocked out, lose fights and then come back better than ever to compete at the very highest level and become champions again later in the career.

Very hard to do.
