How Prevalent Are Steroids In Professional Boxing

There’s been a lot of people popping for PEDs in professional boxing this year which of course is not a good thing but not uncommon for any professional sport.

All professional sport has steroids of course but the sport of boxing, the entire sport, must take a look now to really get into it at the moment and cut down the rubbish that remains and is going on.

Look, sometimes there is genuine reason for a boxer failing a PED test. Sometimes they fail on a banned substance for trace amounts due to reasons that are genuine without them knowing they had taken the banned substance.

Other times tainted food or supplements can in fact be legitimate causes of a failed PED test.

Jaime Munguia cleared recently comes to mind in this regard.

How Prevalent Are Steroids In Professional Boxing

We spoke about recently on here about random blood and urine tests year round out of competition 365 days of the year worldwide for all top 10 ranked fighters in all weight divisions as the only real way to police PEDs — sometimes referred to as but not limited to as — steroids — in boxing.

But boxing must go further than that and faster right now, not in the future, right now, to ascertain scope and probable cause for what exactly is the root of the issue outside of the athlete himself.

This is the bigger question to ask.

If a boxer is suddenly looking like a hulk and a body builder, that is not normal for professional boxing as well, we don’t usually talk about PEDs or steroids and this is the last we will say on the topic for now, but it needs to be further looked at.
