The WBA (The World Boxing Association) have been around for many years and are of course very well known and have had many legendary fights for their title over the years in boxing.
But outside of putting on too many ‘Super’, ‘Regular’ and ‘Interim’ title fights for their belts which really angers old and new fans alike.
And it does.
There is perhaps something recently in 2025 that they did that cheeses fans and people in boxing off more.
That’s giving Jake Paul a top 15 ranking in the cruiserweight division in their organization.
What The WBA Did That Still Angers People
Paul has had an up and down run in boxing and lost one fight as a pro thus far (to Tommy Fury) but to get an immediate ranking earlier this year really annoyed some people.
We didn’t think it was that bad ourselves, but many still seem to have a craw in their beak about it.
The ranking was given to Paul after his points win over former middleweight champion Julio Caesar Chavez Jr.
Since then, Paul has positioned himself now into fighting a legit professional heavyweight fight next against Anthony Joshua on December 19th in Florida.

If Paul were to give a good account of himself maybe the WBA was be proved right in all of this of course.
Time will tell.
WBA at the end of the day is one of the four that matter in boxing world title belts.
