Not long ago heavyweight kingpin Oleksandr Usyk of the Ukraine said he wanted to look into something that would be a game change in pro sport.
He said he wanted to fight in the UFC and possibly take on the UFC heavyweight champion.
Nothing much came of it since, but he was asked about it when looking at retirement.
Well, with TKO Boxing who has Turki Alalshkih and the UFC President Dana White involved, and the UFC now promoting boxing through it, he has a ready made route and path to achieve that.
Usyk has largely battered everyone in boxing and all over the world too.
Even now up at heavyweight he’s pulverized everyone, battered people bigger than him all over the planet, even knocking out former IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois who was much younger than him earlier this summer.
Usyk is the King of the heavyweight division and literally, just because he could, only earlier this week sent the WBO (World Boxing Organization) packing and vacated their title.
Where Usyk And The UFC Can Fit Together In Boxing
Usyk needs a new challenge.
Now, the other option, what you could do with him, is bring some major UFC name over to fight him in boxing but realistically, that would end in an easy win for Usyk.
There’s definitely something there though in terms of the UFC promoting Usyk more if TKO and Zuffa Boxing make him one of their signing.
Usyk speaks English now well too — his charisma makes him an easy sell for the marketing geniuses that are the UFC and their team.
Times are changing and all things are possible.
Boxing and the UFC are more closely aligned than ever now — the above can happen.
