Timing is everything in professional sport and of course the same is true for professional boxing in that regard.
Fighters can sometimes get chinny over night if they have too many gym wars or have been in too many wars in the boxing ring. Fighters should box clever as their career unfolds and sometimes defensive boxing is not just a good thing, it is a great thing.
Sometimes the best defense is a great offense and all out attack as well, however.
Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul comes at a unique time for the sport where many new companies and governments are coming on board as professional boxing goes to the next level soon enough.
It already is right now in fact, but big times ahead shortly.
Is Jake Paul Catching Anthony Joshua At The Right Time
That’s the commercial timing but from a sporting contest Anthony Joshua is coming off a lot of time out of the ring having been viciously knocked out by Daniel Dubois last year to lost his IBF heavyweight title.
He’s also had heavy losses in recent years other than this and heavyweights hit different, those knockouts are no joke.
Daniel Dubois was also heavily then knocked out by Oleksandr Usyk this year, to put things in perspective.
Some thing Anthony Joshua is not the fighter he was anymore because of all this and as well he is coming off heavy surgery only recently this year.
On top of the fact he’s been travelling around the world while Jake Paul has mostly been in the gym living the life of a fighter, injury free as well.
Jake Paul is obviously a big underdog but don’t discount the above either.
At the end of the day Jake Paul ultimately is a promoter, and a good one at that.
