Next summer at the White House a huge MMA (mixed martial arts) event will happen involving big names like Conor McGregor and more but there’s potential for boxing.
The Trump administration is actually getting involved in showing MMA at the White House but boxing is a bigger sport than the MMA and UFC now on a worldwide basis, in terms of the East and West.
Trump back in the day was involved in promoting boxing himself so is no stranger to the sport.
What’s more, is the BBC (British Broadcasting Channel) which is one of the biggest media networks in the world, and the UK’s national State funded broadcaster, confirmed after decades that they are now back in boxing.
Showing soon boxing to the masses via Ben Shalom’s BOXXER promotion in a deal that will start soon showing boxing on free to air TV and digital platforms soon.
How The BBC And UK Government Can Show Path To US Government In Boxing To Go Further
It is not clear what fights or how it will exactly work soon but the deal is done and it is important to realize that the UK government funds that network.
Sure, Trump is looking at litigating against them now, and they are in the news for the wrong reasons, but from a boxing point of view its great they will show boxing again soon.
Surely the US and other TV companies now moving away from being TV companies into digital media companies fully, as TV, newspapers and radio continue to decline rapidly, and online continues to boom daily, can look at doing something in boxing as well.
America doesn’t really have a public funded State TV station or media platform but it can look at investing more in professional boxing, in terms of a big event like the UFC one next summer.
Boxing after baseball used to be America’s most popular sport back in the 30s and around then when the likes of Jack Dempsey used to sell out huge stadiums across America for his fights back in the day.
It was in fact America not the UK or Germany, that were the original pioneer of big boxing stadium fights back in the day.
Certainly if the fights were good and the event was good, and big companies like Netflix, DAZN, Paramount and the UFC were involved in promoting a huge boxing event at the White House or somewhere else with the government’s involvement, it could be done in such a way that would be a big benefit to America, as well.
Something to look into.
The Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua fight is certainly one event that is getting the UK and US talking at the moment.
It would need to be a huge event in boxing to get all the way to the White House of course.
