The UFC dipped their toes into promoting professional boxing in recent years but are now properly all in and there is no turning back now.
That’s the way it should be as well.
Their new Zuffa Boxing profiles on social media continue to take off and through the TKO Boxing promotion/league, their first big event was with Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford recently.
With UFC President Dana White as the lead boxing promoter in Vegas on the night.
The fight and event went very well and Crawford shocked the world to step up two weight classes to defeat Mexican star Alvarez.
The UFC had been using UFC Fight Pass already to show Callum Walsh’s early prospect fights but now things are more solid and official, they are in boxing now.
A Big Move The UFC Can Bring To Boxing Now They Are Promoting Boxing
Soon, TKO which is linked to Zuffa Boxing, many think will sign at least 100 professional boxers, maybe more, maybe a lot more.
A great show that has worked well in the UFC for fight fans of MMA over the years is ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ which is a reality show that puts budding fighters into a house to train for a number of months and fight for a chance to win a contract in the UFC.
It has gone off the rails a few times where they let the fighters have booze and fists fly in the house but it made for good TV and now with TV not as watched anymore, they could do some sort of similar program in boxing putting boxers in a house and fighting for a contract to fight for TKO or Zuffa Boxing, or however it would work.
Maybe though you’d need to look at some security in or at least outside the house.
They could show it on any of their digital platforms including their website, social media and so on.
It would make for good viewing and be something only the level of the UFC’s production could make happen.
Their might be a trademark on the show, hence why the UFC would be the only ones to really be able to roll it out in boxing anyway.
Here’s also a look at how the UFC might promote boxing on their new Paramount deal.
