Talks of a possible Mayweather Pacquiao 2 rematch have come about from out of nowhere most recently. A look at what it can still earn for both below.
The fight is not likely but there has been legit talks recently between the two teams, even at their advanced years.
Pacquiao did the impossible this year by drawing with a 30-year-old Mario Barrios in a legit world title fight.
Most thought he deserved to get the nod over Barrios.
Now, Pacquiao is set to challenge for a world title again in the early new year against reportedly Rolly Romero.
Mayweather at the same time is first linked to a boxing exhibition against boxing legend and former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.
Mayweather Pacquiao 2 Rematch Possible Financial Windfall
What could a Mayweather Pacquiao 2 rematch possibly generate in terms of money?
Even after all these years?
Let’s take a look based on common sense assumptions and data available.
- Total Estimated Revenue: $300-400 Million — Scaled from the 2015 fight’s $500-600M record (4.6M PPV buys at $100, $72M gate) — nostalgia and global streaming could hit 60-80% despite ages (Mayweather 49, Pacquiao 47) and original fight’s criticism.
- Streaming Revenue: $200-250 Million (Platform TBD) — No broadcaster confirmed — talks could likely include Netflix-style PPV ($30-50 add-on) — leveraging 300M+ global subs and lower entry price vs. 2015’s $100 cable PPV to drive 2-3M buys.
- Live Gate & Sponsorships: $50-80 Million — MGM Grand likely venue — $40-60M from 16K tickets ($1,500-$10K+), $10-20M sponsorships (Tecate, crypto brands), boosted by exhibition or sanctioned rules.
- Fighter Purses: $150-200 Million Split — Mayweather ~$90-120M, Pacquiao –$60-80M via PPV points — reflects 2015 split and recent activity (Pacquiao fought Barrios 2025).
- Merch & Global Rights: $30-50 Million — Apparel, NFTs, closed-circuit in Philippines/Mexico; streaming expands reach vs. 2015’s cable limits.
- Risks — No deal signed — fan skepticism (“cash grab”) and age may cap interest — but lower PPV price and redemption narrative could push upside.
Alas, it is a crazy fight to happen.
Even at this stage.
But one between still two big names and one between two legends of the sport.
Pacquiao showing only earlier this summer that he can still compete at genuine world title level at the highest level of professional boxing.
We live in a crazy time in terms of everything going on the planet, mostly driven by the small number of the depraved animal dog far left people that will never even get a shred of respect from anyone again.
So, is a crazy fight in the sport of boxing between two legends past their best possible in the new era of boxing we are in now?
It is.
Its up to whether or not the fans, old and new, still want to see it or not.
