The judging and scoring was not everyone’s cup of tea at the weekend between Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
The right man got the nod of course.
Crawford won on points via UD and everyone agreed he was the winner.

Speaking on Talk Sport after the fight Gareth A Davies said of the scoring however:
“The majesty and poise of Terence Crawford’s brilliance tonight were to the fore. I had it nine rounds to three. I can just about see eight rounds to four. The 116-112 score? I cannot see seven rounds to five from two of the judges.”
Judges can make mistakes sometimes and this needs to be looked at again moving forward in big events.
Maybe AI has a place for scoring in boxing moving forward it might be said.
