Joe Bugner passed away earlier this week after a battle with some health challenges in news that rocked the sport of boxing and some fans.
There has been a lot of death in boxing in 2025 unfortunately.
Bugner was an Australian heavyweight that took Ali and Joe Frazier the distance.
He was a big character in the sport as well.
Frank Warren On Era Of Heavyweights Joe Bugner Fought In
Hall of Fame Promoter Frank Warren said to BoxNation earlier on him:
“He was in the era of great heavyweights—real great heavyweights, you know, Ali, Frazier, Ron Lyle, I mean Shaver, all of them. It was a great era of fighters. He went the full distance with Muhammad Ali twice.”
Not many took Ali the distance twice.
He ended his career very strongly as well and went out of boxing on top as a winner back.
