Jai Opetaia Next Fight Ordered By IBF
The IBF (International Boxing Federation) have now ordered according to the Australian Press, that Jai Opetaia must next face mandatory challenger Huseyin Cinkara. Not a great fight obviously for IBF and Ring Magazine champion Opetaia to be in. People would rather see him fight someone like an Artur Beterbiev or Bivol or Benavidez. But they are light heavyweights.
Even in his own division a fight with fellow champion Gilberto Ramirez or Badou Jack would be much better as a unification at some point. Mandatories are an unfortunate part of the sport at the moment and maybe those new corporations coming to boxing can ensure more unification fights, which, is what fighters and fans always want anyway.
