Shakur Stevenson Gets A Surprise For William Zepeda Fight

One of the pound for pound best fighters on Earth returns to work next week in New York in one of the great matchups of the summer so far.

World champion and defensive genius in the sport Shakur Stevenson fights Mexico’s undefeated William Zepeda next weekend.

Zepeda has many more pro fights than Stevenson and the fight is surely his most difficult as a pro to date, one he can lose if not careful.

Ahead of the fight Saudi adviser and fight organizer Turki Alalshikh said on the X platform a short time ago:

“We have a surprise for @ShakurStevenson on Saturday, a ring that shrinks as the fight goes on. Shakur says he is ready to deliver a beatdown of William Zepeda, and I know the Mexican is prepared for the challenge of the biggest fight of his life.”

If the fight is smaller in theory that should suit the more aggressive Mexican fight style of Zepeda, in theory.

But Stevenson can box in a phone booth if he needs to of course.

The fight is really excellent in so many ways.

Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano III next week as well at Madison Square Garden on Netflix as well.

What a week ahead for boxing.

Shakur Stevenson is in very bullish form ahead of the fight next week per this.

Roll on.
