Nonito Donaire Celebrates Wife’s Birthday After His Comeback Win

A short time ago on Instagram he posted the following to his wife Rachel:

“Happy Birthday, Rachel

To my incredible wife—
You are strength wrapped in grace, fire wrapped in love.
You trade heels for tennis shoes and boxing mitts without missing a beat—
Mom by day, coach by night, and my ride-or-die through it all.

You were my sparring partner for Oubaali when no one thought I had a chance.
Your height was perfect, your heart even more so.
Now you’re my mitts coach for Campos, stepping up once again when others counted me out—
But you never did.

The boys have the best example of what fierce, fearless, and faithful looks like.
And I have the greatest partner a man could ask for.

Today we celebrate YOU—
The queen of our corner, the heart of our home, the fire that never fades.

I love you always. Happy birthday, my champ.”

Good to see them doing well and well done to Donaire on the comeback to boxing at 42.

What a comeback.

He has shown and lead the way for Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao at 46 to try to do something similar on July 19th.

But Pacquiao’s task is very much harder in facing a world champion in Mario Barrio and Pacquiao is 46 as well.
