Usyk Reacts To Lomachenko Retiring From Boxing At 37

Undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has reacted to his fellow Ukrainian boxing great Lomachenko retiring from the sport of boxing.

The big news that Lomachenko leaves the sport of boxing at only 37 years of age on top of his game after beating young lion and former champion George Kambosos on his last fight, battering him and knocking him out, shook the sport this week.

Usyk Reacts To Lomachenko Retiring

Usyk said the following on Instagram a short time ago of him moving on from boxing:

“Thank you for your journey, your dedication, and your greatness. You are one of the greatest athletes the world of sport has ever seen. Not just in boxing — in sport, period. Your amateur legacy is unmatched. Two Olympic gold medals. Nearly 400 wins. A master of movement, timing, and precision. And in the professional ring, you made history again — becoming a world champion in three divisions, doing what many thought was impossible, and doing it with style, class, and intelligence. You inspired millions. You changed the game. You set a new standard. I am proud to call you my friend, my teammate, my brother. Your legacy will live on for many, many years. In the hearts of fighters. In the minds of fans. In the history books of boxing. Congratulations on a legendary career.”

Usyk and Lomachenko went through it all in boxing together as amateurs, travelling the world, battering people worldwide as happy productive fighters.

When real fighting men are training and battering, and knocking people out, that is when they are happiest. Simple.

Lomachenko must keep up his boxing training for his health and wellness in retirement. There is no retiring from that. He knows that though.

As for the two above, they then turned professional and went on to become some of the best boxers of the last twenty or thirty years, Usyk and Lomachenko.

Good friends, training partners and long-term business associates.

The boxing world wished Lomachenko well collectively this week.

Good luck to ‘The Matrix’ Lomachenko in whatever is next, which, as mentioned previously, obviously will be successful.
