There is a well liked heavyweight from the UK called Dave Allen who shocked boxing recently when he won by violent knockout very recently.
He did so without even training hard, really, and was very out of shape, even though he’ll tell you he trained hard.
Look, he won by brutal knockout and that’s all that counts and seems to be positiioning himself for a fight with former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder from America.
Speaking on Talk Sport, ‘The White Rhino’ said of a fight with Wilder:
“I don’t think so. I think the biggest thing is that I’ve sparred the best heavyweights in the world, like Tyson Fury—I’m not that good, and that’s fine. I accepted that a long time ago. But Deontay Wilder isn’t that good either, is he? Deontay Wilder isn’t what he was. Deontay Wilder is beatable now.”
He is right in much of that, you know.
Wilder returns to the boxing ring this month in fact on June 27th in the US in a comeback fight.
A lot will tell this month from that of course.
