Jermall Charlo Credits Jesus Christ Ahead Of Comeback

Jermall Charlo has been gone from the sport of boxing a minute, but he’s still unbeaten and undefeated ahead of his comeback this weekend.

Like some professional athletes, many of them in fact, he had some ups and downs.

But he is clearly focused in his training and in a good space mentally ahead of his comeback to the sport this weekend after been away from boxing for a bit.

Speaking to Fight Hub’s Marcos Villegas, Charlo said ahead of the comeback this weekend:

“I actually feel better now. Getting back in the ring, I feel younger, happier, and I’m enjoying it now. I’m having fun. I went back to my roots, you know. You’ll see what I mean in the fight—if you know, you know. I just went back to my roots, redeveloping everything. Not that I didn’t know it already, but I relearned my jab, my craft, and why I’m Jermall Charlo. I went back to what makes me Jermall Charlo. I think change is good for people. Some people are scared of change, but it’s good, and this was one of those things I had to go through to realize you need to change and fix yourself up. One of my close friends, Andre Ward, told me, “Everybody doesn’t find God the same way, but once you lock in and give it all to Christ, you’ll really show yourself approved.” That’s one of the things that helped me fix everything that was going on.”

This weekend he takes on Thomas LaManna on the same card as his long time rival Caleb Plant.

In a big fight night on Amazon Prime with PBC in Las Vegas’ Michelob Ultra Arena on Saturday night.
