Sugar Ray Leonard Reacts To Manny Pacquiao Coming Back At 46 Fighting For World Title

Boxing legend Ray Leonard has been where Pacquiao has been to a degree having come back later in his career for a big fight in the sport as well.

Leonard is one of the greats, like Pacquiao, too of course.

Speaking to Fight Hype on Pacquiao’s upcoming fight with Mario Barrios, and more, Leonard said:

“You know, when I came back that one horrible time, it was all me—it was my mindset, the way I thought. I believed I could win, I trained hard, but you know what? I wouldn’t do it again. You know what I mean? I wouldn’t do it again. But I can’t tell someone, “Don’t do that,” because I made too many comebacks myself. As for Manny, just be healthy and do what you think you can do. It’s a hard thing to take away from somebody—you kind of have to find out what’s there, right? Absolutely. You have to believe in yourself, because if you don’t, no one else will. That’s my thing—it could be positive, it could be negative, that’s life, but you can live with the result.”

Some golden advise from one of the greats to ever do it there. Particularly for an older ‘Pacman’ now returning to the sport.

Leonard is, and always will be, one of boxing’s greats.

A class act of a guy outside of boxing who frankly maybe did a lot more for people then he should have, with his time and everything.

Leonard used to call a lot of fights as a commentator but not much so anymore, the PBC used to always get him on.

We know many boxing fans would listen to his punditry on fights again.
