Terence Crawford one of boxing’s best pound for pound boxers of these times on Earth gives his expert breakdown of the main fights on Fatal Fury below.
Crawford is in town in New York tonight for the big boxing card and is expected to face Canelo Alvarez in September, only if Alvarez beats William Scull tomorrow in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking to Ring Magazine at the weigh-ins for Fatal Fury, Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford assessed the three big fights in New York tonight at Times Square:
“I think the Teo and Barboza fight is really sticking out to me, you know? You have a fighter in Barboza who’s been calling out all these top-name guys for a long time, and he can fight. I just think Teofimo—Teo—is more athletic, and he’s definitely going to have to use his athleticism to get the job done. But also, I think Jose Ramirez and Devin is a great fight as well. If Jose comes motivated and ready to fight like he normally does, he’s going to push the action, and he’s going to be there all night in Devin’s face. So, it could be a fight where Devin looks good, or it could be a fight where he’s in a tough fight because Jose is by far not an easy opponent to get the job done against. And then you’ve got Ryan fighting Rolly—that’s a funny fight. You know, you’ve got two fighters who’ve been in the ring with each other. Rolly’s been putting out clips where he’s hurting Ryan when they sparred—which was a long time ago, like eight years ago, I think. So, you know, he probably comes in with the confidence of, “Oh, I hurt you once, I’ll hurt you again.” So, it’s going to be a great night of boxing, and I can’t wait to see it tomorrow.”
It doesn’t get much better than that as far as breakdowns and punditry from whom some consider the best pound for pound boxer in the world.
What a card in boxing tonight in New York, roll on.
