Garcia On Giving Devin Haney Another Chance And Another Shot To Fight Him

‘King’ Ryan Garcia knows his value and that he calls the shots in any negotiation outside of Gervonta Davis near his weight division.

Garcia is a huge star not just in boxing but in pro sport in America and abroad.

He returns tonight against Rolly Romero in his return from suspension for a world title, Devin Haney boxes on the same card. The pair having fought only last year.

Speaking to the excellent Stomping Ground podcast in the UK, Garcia said:

“I’d describe it as a complimentary rematch, just giving him another chance to try to get me. We fought so many times in the amateurs—I don’t mind fighting him. I fought him six times in the amateurs, so with the total being seven or eight times, I’m like, “Alright, let’s do it again.” I’m comfortable with it—it doesn’t throw me off. I feel like I already beat him, but I can do it again. Turki (Alalshikh) really wanted it, to be honest. I was trying to fight someone else.”

The fight is understood to be already made in terms of the rematch.

Both boxers must win tonight however to make it happen.
