Ryan Garcia Responds To Conor Benn Wishing To Fight Him

They say be careful what you wish for and boxing star Ryan Garcia has taken some brief time out to speak on one wish for a UK rival.

Conor Benn lost out to Chris Eubank Jr last weekend in an epic fight and only lost a unanimous points decision, he will of course be back shortly stronger.

Speaking to reporters in an open media scrum ahead of his fight this Friday, boxing super star Ryan Garcia said of hearing Benn wants a fight with him:

“That fight between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. was incredible—one of the best I’ve seen in a long time, honestly. They went to war for 12 rounds, with Chris winning a close decision, but both guys showed heart. Conor had a great performance, even though he lost, and I saw a lot of holes in his game that Chris didn’t fully exploit—like Conor’s tendency to drop his hands after throwing combinations. I think I could take advantage of that. But at the end of the day, they’re both warriors, and they gave the fans a hell of a show. As for Conor wanting to fight me, I’m totally down. That’d be a huge fight! He can come over here, and we can throw down. I’m always open to fighting the best, whether it’s Conor, Jaron “Boots” Ennis, or anyone else the fans want to see. I like my chances against anybody.”

Certainly a great clash of styles if it can be made.

Garcia is busy this year though and has the task of Rolly Romero on his hands this Friday first up.

If he wins, and Devin Haney wins against Jose Ramirez, then they both have a rematch set later this year as well.
