Devin Haney Not Overlooking Jose Ramirez And He'S Bloody Right Not To

Devin Haney speaks on his upcoming opponent in New York on Friday night in a huge night for the sport of boxing worldwide, not just in the US.

Haney takes on Jose Ramirez on the ‘Fatal Fury’ show and if he wins, and his rival Ryan Garcia can beat Rolly Romero, a rematch is up for grabs later this year in a mega fight.

He has a big fight on his hands however, and he knows it, speaking to Mike Coppinger of Ring Magazine’s ‘Unboxed’ shoulder program, Haney respectfully noted on Jose Ramirez:

“He’s proven himself—he’s a two-division champion, and that doesn’t just happen by luck. I think he’s probably one of my toughest opponents, outside of Lomachenko. As far as attributes and everything, he’s the next guy on the list. But I’ve got to go in there and show that while he may look good on paper, it’s a mismatch in the ring. And that’s what it’ll be on May 2nd.”

Well done for him on saying that, all correct.

Ramirez is no joke and if Haney is off his game and has slacked off even one per cent, he maybe brutally knocked out by Ramirez.

This is the high stakes nature of professional boxing and professional fighting.

No mistakes can be made, and Haney knows it, he has good people around him as well and will be focused.

This is a great fight though, people are focused on the Garcia fight mostly because of how famous Garcia is and big a star he is, but this fight and the Teofimo Lopez vs Arnold Barboza fight, are class fights as well.
