Chris Eubank Jr has been discharged this week from hospital following his savage fight with Conor Benn in the UK last weekend in a great brawl.
Both boxers ended up in hospital after the fight.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Ben Shalom, Chris Eubank Jr’s promoter and the promoter of Boxxer said:
“Sure, it was purely precautionary, and that’s all it was. Chris has reached a point in his career where he and his team, including his dad, have seen enough to know that after a brutal 12-round fight like that, you need to be thorough. You have to check your vitals, your bloodwork, everything. So, we stayed overnight at the hospital just to be safe. It wasn’t anything serious—he was understandably exhausted after going the full distance in such a high-stakes fight, throwing over 600 punches and taking some heavy shots from Conor. There were rumors about his cheek being an issue, but that was overblown. The main concern was just making sure he was fully recovered after such a physically demanding performance. He’s fine now—relaxing, happy, smiling—and everything is good in the Eubank Jr. camp.”
Good to hear no real or serious injuries occured there.
A rematch is possible some think later this year but it depends on what the boxers and teams want to do.
Certainly, definitely, boxing fans would watch the rematch.
The rematch would sell out Wembley stadium.
