Some chaotic scenes happened after Ben Whittaker knocked out Liam Cameron involving Cameron’s training team and corner.
Whittaker went over to them after he knocked their guy out and let them have it verbally. A lot has been said about it over the weekend and today by boxing fans.
Speaking after the fight Johnny Nelson, Dave Coldwell and the crew of Sky mentioned:
“The issue here, to me, isn’t really an issue. I know Dave said Ben Whittaker was classless, but I disagree it wasn’t classlessness. It was pure emotion coming out. We saw the same with Frazer Clarke after he knocked out his opponent. Frustration, stemming from what this young man has been through over the past few months.”
Maybe Nelson has a good point above you know.
He had trained very hard for the fight and you have to remember some of these guys are like pit bulls off the leash when you let them go in there after weeks and months of training.
Then stick a microphone in their face straight after and often they are still amped up.
This is the boxing and fight business after all. Not the nice guy business.
Not when that bell goes.
