What a fight David Benavidez vs David Morrell was tonight in boxing results of the big fight.
True mayhem in the ring and like many advised before hand, Morrell was the biggest test of Benavidez’ career — and proved to be in many aspects.
Alas, Benavidez got the win tonight on the cards on points. He won a unanimous points decision. Here is some of the reaction:
In the fight, Benavidez came out as the aggressor right from the get go but at times, as you thought he was going to fully control the fight, Morrell came on strong.
A high tempo fight with the walking down, marauding style of Benavidez who got caught with silly punches some times, showed the heart of a lion as always, the uppercut at times was tremendous from Benavidez, a very clean, surgical, precise blow when thrown well by him.
However, in a stunning turn of events David Morrell knocked down Benavidez in round 11 — catching him with a short right hook on the inside.
Morrell also lost a point at the end of that round however for hitting after the bell.
In the end of course Benavidez ran out victorious by UD on the cards.
115-111, 115-111, 118-108 were the scores on the cards.
The win improved Benavidez’ record to 30-0 tonight.
