David Benavidez really became one of boxing’s big stars tonight with such a fight and win over David Morrell.
The light-heavyweight division of which he is in sees the Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol rematch later this month on February 22nd for the undisputed title.
Speaking after the win tonight in Vegas:
“I feel like the fight would sell better over here (the winner of Bivolv vs Beterbiev.”
He added:
“This is my market. We just sold out T-Mobile. This is my dream come true. I just want to take advantage of this market.”
He added:
“I feel like the fight would be even bigger here.”
Likely he is very right.
Of course there is no reason why the fight cannot be made in the US, the Middle East or anywhere else in the future.
