Heavyweight Ardi Ndembo Dies In Boxing’s First Death of 2024

Heavyweight Ardi Ndembo has passed away under tragic circumstances in professional boxing’s first recorded death of 2024.

The father of two at just 27-years-old from the Congo, who had been living in South Africa — had huge promise for a career in big time boxing.

It was tragically cut short after his last bout on April 5th however.

Ndembo was knocked out in a Team Combat League tournament.

This then put him into an induced coma after the bout.

He passed away last Thursday night after the coma that lead to his untimely death.

It was not long ago that Ardi was predicting that Tyson Fury would knock out Oleksandr Usyk in their upcoming heavyweight title unification with Pro Boxing Fans YouTube (hat tip):

Ndembo was on his way to building a very promising heavyweight career.

A stark reminder that in a much safer sport nowadays, that nonetheless, tragic accidents can still arise on occasion.
