This weekend’s big fight is an intriguing match up between two of boxing’s new stars in recent years.
Both have burst into the scene in years gone by with big followings and ability to back them up no less.
Haney, an undefeated champion at super-lightweight, has been on a roll.
Taking out competition of a high level in recent years but improving relentlessly, always improving.
Last year Garcia was knocked out badly by Gervonta Davis but did come back with a win before the end of 2023.
That said, that will still be in his mind.
Haney is not that type of concussive puncher, though, and Garcia came in overweight a few pounds so could be strong in the ring tonight.
Most likely Garcia will come out all guns blazing early on but look for Haney to potentially out box him and take the win by unanimous decision.
Garcia will likely move to welterweight at some point, given the struggle to make the weight and erratic behaviour leading into the fight.
Whatever happens, a tremendous contest in store.
The type of fight that makes boxing such an alive again sport, pitting two young guns, world level, big stars against one another in their primes always leaves the fans, and the sport, ultimately, the real winner tonight.
