Kudos to Dmitry Bivol at the weekend.
Huge win over Canelo Alvarez.
Big shake up in the pound for pound rankings at the moment.
Here is a look back through the highlights for those that didn’t see it live:
The bigger man with a tight guard showed how effective he was in the end.
Well done to Canelo though for even contemplating such a challenge. Maybe on another night he would have beaten Bivol.
Mike Tyson made some interesting and strange comments after the fight mentioning, likely about Canelo, that if he wasn’t scared to get in the ring anymore time to quit.
No way. Tyson is wrong on that one. But if Alvarez lost even half a percentage of motivation at the highest level of professional sport — that’s all it takes.
You can’t blame him either after a truly legendary few years he’s given all us fight fans in recent times. He’ll be back.
Surely super-middleweight suits him best.
This weekend was all about Dmitry Bivol though. Solid shots straight down the middle behind a strong jab and boxed maybe as well as he could have to get the victory.
Massive credit to Bivol on shaking up the world with a tremendous win.
Big respect to both boxers.
