Joe Bugner will be remembered by many for his defeat to England’s Frank Bruno as well as to Muhammad Ali.
Bugner born in Szőreg, a southeastern suburb of Szeged in southern Hungary also had dual citizenship in Australia and England.
On this day in 1971 in England another American was to deliver a beating to the Hungarian that many might not be aware of.
