As professional boxing continues to do well in all the nations once again internationally worldwide it is important to realize something.
Sometimes boxing fans live in a bubble. An enjoyable one of course.
The saying ‘No boxing no life’ from Canelo Alvarez’ coach is very true for those who find their passion in boxing.
Nothing much else matters really once this is realized in life.
But it is important to remember that new fans of boxing don’t know all the characters in boxing.
All the up and coming prospects.
The hidden gems that have the potential to become champion.
The diamond in the rough who might even transcend the sport that comes along once in a generation.
Boxing has some very special fighters in its ranks.
One of which being unbeaten Mexican Jaime Munguia.
He returns this weekend against Philadelphia’s Gabriel Rosado in what should be a great fight.
Munguia fights at middleweight but who knows maybe he could be mentioned as an opponent for boxing superstar and pound for pound ‘Numero Uno’ Saul Canelo Alvarez.
Mexico vs Puerto Rico too this weekend in a healthy, friendly rivalry.
Possibly along with Belfast, Northern Ireland and separately, UK boxing fans, the other two best sets of boxing fans in the world.
As a quick aside as they say here in Mexico and in Latin America, ‘Sigue peleando la buena batalla’.
Should be a good fight this weekend — indeed.
Rosado no easy fight for anyone and will be coming to win.
Also trained by legendary coach Freddie Roach:
Rosado one of the best boxers to not win a world title but considered a people’s champ by many.
Munguia can really punch and Rosado heck of a fighter with an aggressive style.
The clash of these styles should produce something special this weekend.
For as long as it lasts it promises to be genuine fireworks in the boxing ring.
Here’s more on both fighters:
