This weekend’s fight featuring a boxing legend (Evander Holyfield) well over the age usually allowed to compete in a pro boxing ring brings up another important subject.
That of pensions for boxers after they retire.
This has never traditionally existed in boxing but trainer and commentator Teddy Atlas made a constructive suggestion that might be worth thinking about down the line for administrators of the sport:
Good idea but hard to see it implemented.
Logistics-wise.
Certainly something to think about though.
