Individual Attacks Former World Champion Ringside

Paulie Malignaggi is a former two-time world champion and an excellent commentator when it comes to his boxing knowledge.

It appears he was commentating at a lesser known event during the week and some, well, one of these influencer or social media celebrity individuals, ran up from behind and smacked him in the back of the head.

It is unclear really what the heck prompted this level of disrespect.

To a former world champion — while he was working and commentating on a fight:

Hitting someone from behind the back of the head cowardly indeed.

The thing is, all these YouTubers clowning actual fighters and former champions is going to end only one way for one of them.

Eventually, sooner or later, reality will catch up with them.

We’re all for people making a living and entertainment, each to their own.

But it seems like boxing is being disrespected to an unacceptable level in some regards lately.

The thing is, some of it is okay but it just seems the cash grab and fame grab mentality in some quarters is getting to the point of crossing the line.

Or, it already has really.

Sooner or later, though, one of these social media celebrities will fight a genuine boxer and that’s it for them then.

At least Jake Paul to his credit is taking the sport serious and training but there is so many new people popping up now, the whole thing is a bit of farce.
