Double Olympic Gold medalist Claressa Shields continued her impressive professional boxing journey last Friday with another win.

The fight that is being called for now is with Ireland’s Katie Taylor.

They both need one another. Equally as much. For different reasons.

Shields is the only female boxer in America at the moment doing any numbers at all worth even talking about at the end of the day.

This 25-year-old young kid from Michigan has surprised and excelled again on her own, as it has now been reported that her pay per view sales last Friday exceeded all expectations. Impressive.

Not surprising in hindsight, actually, given the online numbers she is tracking at the moment.

Way bigger than anything we’ve seen for women’s boxing. Yup. This thing is alive and kicking now and literally needs Claressa Shields to get it going again. Badly too.

Ireland’s Katie Taylor a boxing legend too of course, fighting her way to the top of the world out of a small island like Ireland. One of the greatest Irish athletes ever and the devout Christian a great role model for all of sport.

Capturing Olympic gold once. Undefeated as a pro and world champion like Shields, too.

Taylor at 34 will have some experience on Shields but the latter will have a small size advantage.

Good scrap and would get this women’s boxing stuff going well now that Shields is actually a legit draw in America.

Numbers don’t lie at the end of the day. USA all day for the numbers once again as pertaining to women’s boxing.

Being tracking these women’s boxing numbers a lot in recent times and Shields by far, by far, the only female boxer in America, and the world, doing anything worthwhile at all numbers wise to make this worthwhile to even bother to promote this thing and get women’s boxing going again as a sport. The numbers have to be there for it to make sense at the end of the day. Now it does. Shields doing okay numbers online now.

Make the fight. Need to move now and act on the momentum now. Not promised tomorrow only today after all.
