Canelo Shows Off Punching Power For Avni Yildirim Fight

Mexican boxing superstar and pound for pound number one Canelo Alvarez is currently putting final touches to his preparations for his first bout of 2021.

He will take on Turkey’s Avni Yildirim on February 27th in Miami, Florida.

It will mark the first contest of what is hoped, at least, that Mr. Alvarez will have three times in 2021.

One could suggest this is a solid number and very important for the sport of boxing.

In that, to have its biggest star visible and working throughout the year during the current challenging time for people around the world carries responsibility and importance.

Boxing, as mentioned previously, can be a great catalyst for people patiently enduring at the moment.

Be it persevering from training at amateur level.

To allowing people to take their minds of what is going on in the world by enjoying the big fights again.

When it comes to stars in boxing there is no bigger than Mexican warrior Canelo Alvarez.

When Floyd Mayweather suggested he would become boxing’s next big star years ago after he beat him I wasn’t fully convinced.

See what you mean now though. Right on.

Alvarez clearly a man who loves what he does and it shows in the quality of his work on his social media channels:

The timing of physical and technical attributes combined optimal there.

It shows a fighter in his prime, or possibly near it.

The old saying of find what you love to do and you’ll never work a day in your life is so true.

The older you get the more it makes sense.

Always trust God and yourself. Don’t listen to anybody on core fundamentals in life, advice is just a form of nostalgia to be taken with a pinch of salt and processed accordingly and appropriately.

Sure, listen, that’s critical, but acting on it or actually paying any attention to it, or respect to it, and doing something thereafter is completely different.

Surrounding yourself with the right people for you, in your particular case, key. Not easy to do but worth it in the end. Everyone is different as humans are all different, equally different, per se.

All of us lucky enough to be involved and working in this great sport of boxing are very fortunate.

Don’t bloody forget it you goons.

Yes, it’s screwed up and atypical in many aspects but having said that, it’s the still the best sport in the world at the end of the day.

I can only speak for myself of course. Very thankful to be still here. Still alive. Still here enjoying the boxing game and following God.

There’s nothing else I’d rather do in truth. Nowhere else I’d rather be.

After coming through many years much, much darker than hell in recent years of hurting and abusing myself. I turned the pain on me rather than others as I knew one day I could come back as I always have done in life from anything. Please, people in various nations, stop worrying about me, please stop doing that, it’s very annoying now. I’m fine, honestly, and stronger than ever and am loved by my friends and family in America. Dark days are over. Grand. Safe. Not a bother.

Nice to be back in the light doing what I love to do on this website consistently again.

Picking up right where we left off.

In the sport I love. Around the people I love, who were there all along when no one else was, Americans (would have been lost without you all, thanks).

Respect and am friendly with all countries and all humanity but just something a little bit bloody special about America and those Americans for me.

Era, that was just my journey anyway. Nothing special about me at all.

Without getting into specifics, all in all, in conclusion, big respect.

Even more than I already had for America and Americans (which was a lot anyway) after something the other day. Incredible human beings. Never felt so loved in life before.

Yup, was right all along to trust myself and not settle down yet or stop chasing the dream, was right all along to turn loads of stuff down (respectfully, would have been too easy taking the easy way out to sell out and settle down in Europe) and was right in the end to just hold out for a nice American woman one day. Nearly 33 but era, loads of time to settle down. We’ll carry on sure and keep going. Got to love it.

Nothing wrong with Europe at all to be fair — God bless the old Europeans — but just can’t bloody beat America for me. Unbeatable place and people for me. I get it now.

Thanks for everything.

Now, back to work and what we do here. Moving forward.

Big year of boxing ahead.

As for Canelo Alvarez, very exciting year ahead. Let’s crack on. Let’s do this.

Hopefully a couple of big fights for him later in the year.

He can’t afford to take his eye off the ball as he knows there are more than a handful of very hungry, capable challengers coming for him.

There’s loads of them, Saunders, Charlo, Plant, Benavidez, Munguia and more.

Roll on.
