Former undisputed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis has been in the media a lot this year for his opinions surrounding current heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua.
Lewis has been vocal of his disappointment in Joshua not facing the other two best in the division yet, Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder.
All three are set to take on opponents who are not against one another next up and the earliest a super fight can be made between either now looks likely towards the end of the year.
One boxing fan on Twitter said Lewis had played down Joshua with Lewis responding with:
It is indeed true that we won’t be able to say just how good Joshua is until his career is over but at the same time, he’s come very far so far in a relatively short space of time.
When you consider he didn’t have a huge amount of amateur fights but still won a Gold medal at the Olympics and consider how quickly he won the three heavyweight titles he has as a pro, and faced the likes of Klitschko, Whyte and Povetkin along the way in a relatively short space of time, Joshua isn’t doing too bad at all in fairness.
He next faces Jarrell Miller on June 1st in his first fight as a pro in the US.
Both Wilder and Fury are yet to finalize their next opponents with news expected in the near future.
