Frank Warren Takes Snipe At Joshua and Hearn Through Saunders World Title Fight

Former WBO middleweight world champion Billy Joe Saunders it was confirmed today will move up to super-middleweight next up and challenge for the vacant WBO title at 168lbs.

He’ll no longer pursue a fight with Demetrius Andrade back at middleweight for his old world title.

The interesting news is that his fight will happen on April 13th at the Wembley Arena.

In the full stadium, Wembley that is and not the arena.

There was meant to be a heavyweight title fight for Anthony Joshua happening on the date at Wembley but that totally collapsed last week following news Joshua would face little known New York based fighter Jarrell Miller on June 1st instead.

Promoter of Billy Joe Saunders, Frank Warren has used today’s news to take a shot at the above date falling through for Joshua and his promoter Eddie Hearn:

Both Warren and Hearn have been going at one another in the media for years but still have actually yet to meet face to face, man to man.

Rather, the two just use one another to have a go at each other in the media to drum up publicity.

Some things in boxing just never change.
