Boxing fans have come out in full attack mode today following the announcement of heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua’s next fight.
Joshua will take on Jarrell Miller on June 1st at Madison Square Garden following collapsed negotiations for potential Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte fights.
Previously Joshua was due to fight in his home country at Wembley stadium on April 13th but the date and event had to get pulled entirely.
To be fair to Joshua, he can only fight who is put in front of him.
Make no mistake, Anthony Joshua would fight Wilder, Fury or Whyte in a heart beat but it appears that boxing politics have prevented Joshua fighting in a fight that people genuinely wanted to see him in next up unfortunately.
That said, the Fury vs Wilder rematch should be agreed soon and will at least satisfy boxing fan demand in the heavyweight division over the coming months and give boxing fans something to look forward to.
