Jeff Horn Responds To Pacquiao Rematch Speculation

Earlier this week reports emerged suggesting that boxing legend Manny Pacquiao had approached former opponent Australian Jeff Horn about a rematch.

The two originally fought a couple of years back when Horn provided an upset win to take Pacquiao’s WBO welterweight title at the time.

A title Horn would later lose to current belt holder Terence Crawford.

Horn has now taken to social media however to clear up the speculation on his end and said on Instagram:

It is unlikely that Pacquiao would pursue a rematch with Horn at this time with the Australian no longer holding a world title belt and offering little in the way of commercial value for a now 40 year old ‘PacMan’ interested in only pursuing the big fights at this tail end of his professional boxing tenure.

The obvious one that he wants and that has been mooted for a long time now has been the Floyd Mayweather rematch but whether or not the latter really has any genuine interest in such a second fight is unclear.

Keith Thurman who recently returned to boxing last weekend with a hard fought majority points win has since become the leading name to take on Pacquiao next.
