Female boxing star and US Olympic gold medallist Claressa Shields while a top pro boxer is clearly an avid fight fan herself.
She attends most of the big fights it seems where she can and this past weekend was in attendance at the Pacquiao vs Broner fight at the MGM Grand in Vegas.
In an interview with Radio Rahim of Seconds Out YouTube (hat tip) Shields while clearly routing for Broner wasn’t shy about her feedback for him following the loss:
Indeed, many questioned would Broner’s low output of punches go against him in the fight and it proved to be the deciding factor in the end as the more busy and slicker Pacquiao out hustled and out foxed his younger foe.
As for Broner, it will be interesting to see where he goes from here or if he decides to stay at welterweight.
Personally, I’ve always thought he’d be better at lightweight or super-lightweight where he competed back in the day when he performed at his best.
