Boxing World Reacts To Guillermo Rigondeaux’s Early 2019 Comeback Fight

It went largely under the radar in the beginning of January but Guillermo Rigondeaux signed a deal with Premier Boxing Champions that saw him return to the ring last night live on the prelims of Fox Sports 1.

It was an easy win in the end as he went through his younger foe in easy fashion culminating with a left hand that overwhelmed the outmatched adversary in the very first round.

The power clearly still there and Rigondeaux did look like he took the fight seriously in terms of at least getting in good shape and getting back down to his old stomping ground of super-bantamweight (122lbs).

Here’s what some of the immediate reaction has been to his first fight back since losing to Vasyl Lomachenko last year:

He just didnt want that work. He knew he was outclassed and didnt want to take punishment. The guy Rigo fought before Loma did the same thing at the end of the 1st round. They still get the whole check
