WBC heavyweight champion of the world Deontay Wilder had quite the year in 2018 looking back on it.
Two very tough fights in the form of Luis Ortiz and Tyson Fury shut up critics of his who existed for years saying that he avoids the difficult fights in boxing.
There’s no way in hell you can call Deontay a guy who ducks fights after those two fights last year.
His star grew massively in 2018 and particularly after his dramatic fight with Fury last month that captured the world’s attention.
His two opponents last year all in all were arguably the two most avoided men and most difficult styles to fight in the heavyweight division in fairness.

2019 could promise big things for Wilder in the form of a possible Fury rematch or even a long awaited unification showdown with the UK’s Anthony Joshua.
